Insulation contractor in Destin, FL - cooler upstairs rooms in homes and rentals
Fort Walton Beach Spray Foam Insulation insulates attics, walls and crawl spaces on Destin houses and rental properties, sealing the gaps first so the new insulation actually does its job and the upstairs stops running hot.

Destin houses see full-time families and weekly guests
Destin is one of the cities we cover from Fort Walton Beach, where I started this business in 2017, along with Niceville across the bay. The houses here are a mix of full-time homes, second homes and rentals, with older places sitting next to newer builds, and a lot of them have the ductwork and air handler up in the attic.
That mix decides how we work. Ducts in the attic mean our crew works around equipment and seals around it, and a house that changes owners or guests often tends to collect problems up there that nobody wrote down.
What being on jobs in Destin has taught us
In Destin, the City's Building Division issues permits for work inside the city limits, and whether an insulation job needs one is its call, not mine. When a job does need one, the city's review comes before our crew starts, and for that permit the city checks the contractor's state, county and local licenses plus proof of liability and workers' comp insurance. We're licensed and insured, and it's worth asking any contractor about both.
We check first whether an address sits inside the city or out in the county, because a Destin mailing address doesn't settle it, and when a permit is needed we pull it and handle the inspections. Price comes down to what's up there now, whether old insulation has to come out, how much ductwork the crew has to work around and whether foam makes sense, while the schedule turns on cleanup, the permit and, for rentals, the booking calendar. I'll give you your own number once I've been up there, and we do the same work east of here in Miramar Beach.

Rental houses and older attics need different fixes
Property managers call us about Destin rentals when a guest says one bedroom won't cool down, and the attic usually tells the story. We find gaps around can lights, pipes and the hatch that nobody sealed, eave vents buried under insulation and coverage piled deep in the middle and thin at the edges, so we close the gaps first and then even the insulation out. Insulation can't fix a hole it's sitting next to.
Older houses tend to have insulation that's matted, damp or full of droppings, and new material on top just buries the problem, so we start with insulation removal. Foam costs more and seals while it insulates. Sealing the gaps and topping up blown-in loose fill usually wins, unless the ductwork lives up there, which in plenty of Destin houses it does.

How a Destin insulation job goes, start to finish
Call us or send the form
Call (850) 357-6549 or fill out the form with your Destin address and what's bothering you, like a room that won't cool or a power bill that keeps climbing. If it's a rental, tell us who can let me in.
I come look up there
I come out myself and go up in the attic or under the house to see how many inches are already there and what's going on around the can lights, pipes and hatch. Clear a path to the attic hatch and that's all the prep I need.
You hear what I found
I tell you what's wrong and what I'd fix first, then leave you a written estimate. Sometimes the answer is sealing gaps, not more insulation.
We handle permits and prep
If you go ahead, we confirm who has the job and pull any permit it needs, and the city's review has to clear before work starts. Anything that has to come first, like soaked or dirty insulation, gets fixed or flagged then.
We seal, insulate, walk through
Our install crew seals the gaps, then insulates with the eave vents left open and the edges as deep as the middle, and I check in as it goes. When it's done, I walk you through the finished work.

Destin insulation questions we hear
Do I need a permit to insulate my attic in Destin?
The city's permit list doesn't name insulation, so call its building office at (850) 654-1119 to find out for your job. That list covers work that alters or repairs a building and mechanical systems under the state building code, which can come into play if ducts get moved. If the answer is yes, it gets sorted before the crew shows up.
How do I find out if my house is inside Destin city limits?
Look the property up with the Okaloosa County Property Appraiser, which the city says to do before applying for a permit, and a house inside incorporated Destin shows as District 10. It decides whether the city or the county has your permit, which is why we check it on every job before anything gets filed.
Does an insulation contractor need a Destin business tax receipt?
Yes, anyone doing business inside Destin's city limits needs a City Business Tax Receipt, which is the city's business license, for each line of work. A receipt from the county doesn't cover work inside the city, so it's a fair thing to ask whoever you hire to show you.
How long does a Destin building permit stay valid?
A Destin building permit is good for one year from issuance, or until the next Florida Building Code edition takes effect if that's later, as long as work keeps going. Six months with no recorded inspection voids it, though the Building Official may grant an extension on a written request in some cases. We book inspections as the work moves so a permit doesn't sit.
What does insulation cost for a house in Destin?
Your price comes down to what's in the attic now and what has to happen before new insulation goes in, so I give it after I've been up there. Old insulation that's wet or full of droppings has to come out first, foam costs more than sealing and topping up loose fill, and a tight attic full of ductwork makes the work slower.
How long does insulating a Destin rental take between guests?
Most attic sealing and loose-fill jobs fit into a planned gap between bookings, and I'll tell you what yours needs at the estimate. Spray foam takes more planning, because nobody goes back inside until the foam maker's re-entry time, the wait its instructions set, has passed. Send us your turnover dates and we'll schedule the crew around them.
